How does practice Nijdam Osteopathie deal with the coronavirus?
Due to the corona virus / Covid-19, extra precautions have been taken in practice. Some things are expected on your part as well. Please read the following carefully.
Be honest and transparent; inform us if there are any of the points below. This is the only way we guarantee your and my health together.
Stay at home with complaints, such as:
- (mild) cold, runny nose, sneezing
- sore throat, mild cough
- increase to 38 degrees Celsius
- shortness of breath
- headache
- burning eyes
- loss of smell and / or taste
- tiredness, feeling sick and / or diarrhea
- recent (domestic) contact with proven covid-19 patients
- self-experienced covid-19 (be complaint free for at least 24 hours)
If you belong to the risk group * in which a possible infection with Covid-19 could lead to a more serious course, please inform us about this. A thorough assessment is necessary before we can treat you.
* Risk group: chronic respiratory and / or heart disease, diabetes mellitus, severe kidney disease leading to dialysis, reduced resistance due to medication for autoimmune diseases, chemotherapy and / or radiotherapy for cancer, after organ transplantation, blood diseases or untreated HIV infection.
If in doubt, contact us to check if treatment is possible.
Before your appointment, we ask you to observe the following hygiene measures:
- Bring your own towel
- Upon entering the practice, wash your hands for> 20 seconds, paper towels are provided to dry your hands
- Come alone to your appointment
- If your child has an appointment, only 1 parent can join
- Please come to your appointment a maximum of 5 minutes in advance and go home immediately after treatment
- Keep 1.5 m from others
Of course, the other rules also apply:
- Cough and sneeze on the inside of your elbow
- Use tissue paper to blow your nose and then throw it away
- Do not shake hands.
What do we do to ensure your health?
- hands are washed carefully before and after each treatment. The practice is cleaned regularly.
- additional taken measures:
- before and after each treatment, the treatment bench, ATM, door handles and chair handles are cleaned (in the treatment and waiting room)
- your practitioner wears a surgical mouth mask,
- we have the right to refuse treatment if during the consultations it appears that there is a risk of infection by the patient
By following strict hygiene measures together, we monitor both your health and that of your practitioner.

We at practice Nijdam Osteopathie put your health at first place.
Practice Nijdam Osteopathie closely follows the developments regarding the coronavirus and takes measures in response to the developments regarding the coronavirus.
We continuously inform ourselves with various parties (professional associations NOF and NvO / RIVM) and are in close consultation with colleagues within the healthcare sector. We adhere to the regulations of RIVM.
Our highest priority is the health of you, your immediate family and ourselves as a practitioner.
Current measures
Practice Nijdam Osteopathie also adheres to the highest possible hygiene measures before the virus has developed. Hand hygiene is central to this. Careful hand washing is standard before and after each treatment. The practice is cleaned regularly.
The following additional measures have been taken in response to the coronavirus:
- your practitioner cleans and disinfects and her hands and treatment table before and after each treatment
- your practitioner wears latex-free gloves during the entire treatment which are renewed for each patient to be treated
- door handles / handles of the chairs (treatment room and waiting room) and washing tap are cleaned after each treatment
- your practitioner has the right to refuse you treatment if it appears during the consultation that there is a risk of infection by the patient.
What is expected of you as a patient?
- Be honest and transparent; inform us if you have been in a risk area or in contact with an infected person in the past 14 days
- Before and after treatment, wash your hands carefully for 30 seconds. Paper towels are available to dry your hands
- Do you suffer from coughing, shortness of breath, or fever AND did these complaints arise within 14 days after a stay in a risk country OR did these complaints arise within 14 days after contact with a patient with proven Coronavirus? Then we request you not to enter the practice and to report to the doctor.
- You bring your own towel to lie on during the treatment
- If you are in the group of vulnerable persons, please refrain from treatment until April 6, 2020, or at least contact us by telephone in advance. Who belongs to the group of vulnerable persons? If you have underlying complaints such as diabetes mellitus, respiratory and lung disorders and dysfunction / reduced resistance to infections by medication for autoimmune diseases, diseases or if you are undergoing therapy that reduces your immune system (chemotherapy or radiotherapy for cancer) / chronic heart disease / severe kidney disease leading to dialysis or kidney transplantation / HIV infection (talk to your HIV practitioner)
